  • Chapter-Specific Interest Meetings & Events - Attend informational meetings hosted by individual chapters to learn more about their specific intake process and expectations.
  • Interviews and Application Process - If you're interested and eligible, submit your required documents and possibly participate in interviews or meetings as part of a chapter's selection process.

Stay Connected

Start of Fall and Spring Semesters - At the beginning of both the Fall and Spring Semesters, the MGC will host events over the span of 2-3 weeks. If you are curious to learn more or considering joining, you are encouraged to participate.

Showcase - Every Semester, MGC host their Showcase, where chapters perform Stroll/skits to exhibit the culture and meaning of MGC. This is a great space to explore the energy of each organization and determine if you align with any of them.

Social Media

We encourage students to follow chapters on social media to keep up to date on events and announcements.

  • General Questions

    • The Multicultural Greek Council does not charge a fee for recruitment events. They are free and open to any students interested in learning about our community.

    • There isn't a formal registration form, but we do recommend you fill out an interest form on our website.

That information will be forwarded to chapters and all the mutual connections to start immediately.

    • The time you put into your organization will vary based on a few factors.

Your new member education period will be your busiest season. Expect at least 10 hours of organizational responsibilities during this time.

As a general active member, expect at least 5 hours per week.

Additional time obligations will vary based on leadership roles, service events, community events, and individual org events.

Most MGC students work part-time jobs, have full-time class schedules, and are very active with their chapters.

    • Fees are to be discussed with your Chapter of Interest in terms of New Member Dues vs. Active members Dues & Fees, which will vary among each chapter.

    • Surrounding yourself with individuals who will hold you to a high standard of personal and academic excellence is a great start. Maintaining that high standard will be up to you to personally time manage your own obligations in tandem with the organization's expectations of you.

In short, we believe membership will improve your academics, but the work is up to you!

    • Yes. The Multicultural Greek Council, in collaboration with the Fraternity and Sorority Life, works diligently to create a safe, uplifting, and positive experience for all members at all times. There is a zero tolerance for hazing and reckless behavior.

  • Recruitment Specific Terminology

    • The official membership process through which individuals join a fraternity or sorority, including interviews, education, and initiation ceremonies. Unlike traditional "rush," intake is often more private and intentional.

    • Information meetings are hosted that mark the start of an intake process for an organization.

    • A group of individuals who go through the intake process together in a Greek organization. Often referred to by season and year (e.g., "Spring 2025 Line").

    • A public presentation or performance where new members of a Greek organization are formally introduced to the campus and broader community, often revealing their identities for the first time.
