Interfraternity Council

Purpose

IFC is a board of student leaders who are elected to govern the 17 fraternities and operate on the values of Integrity, Service, Scholarship, Commitment, and Friendship. 

Together we promote and maintain fraternal ideals, spirit and leadership among fraternities at Texas State University; promote and ensure cooperation among the fraternities, their National Organizations, the University administration, and the community; aid in the development and maturation of individual fraternity members; provide a medium for the exchange of ideas among the various fraternities; coordinate the fraternities in order to make them as effective as possible; and promote the interest of college fraternities in general.

Recruitment Information

You will learn the importance of living out your values, giving back to your community, and fostering connections that extend beyond your college years. 

Guidelines

To participate in the recruitment process interested students must:

  • Attend a Mandatory Orientation
  • Have at least 2.7 high school GPA (Incoming students)
  • Have at least a 2.5 college GPA (Returning students)

 

Process

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) follows the 365-day year-round recruitment model, meaning they do not have a formal recruitment period and instead allow the chapters to recruit members anytime during the year. 

To assist incoming students find the best fraternity for them, we encourage every person to fill out the IFC Recruitment Form through Campus Director. This form allows the council to notify you of any open events they are hosting throughout the year where you can meet the chapters. 

The council will also share your information with the chapter Recruitment Chairs so they are able to communicate with you about upcoming recruitment events for their chapter.
