Completed Mandatory Trainings

STEP 1: SUBMIT AN APPLICATION

Applications for new student organizations are OPEN!

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the academic year. While there is no specific timeline, Risk Management Training must be completed via Canvas module within 3 weeks of enrollment.


Before beginning an application, have:

  • 3 students who will serve as officers to the organization, including:
    • A President
    • A Vice President
    • A Treasurer
  • 1 faculty or staff member who is employed at least part-time at Texas State University to serve as the organization's advisor
  • NetID emails (e.g., zzz99@txstate.edu) for the four required members of your organization
  • A completed Advisor Acknowledgement Form
  • A Constitution/By-Laws

To submit an application:

  1. Go to the Bobcat Organization Hub and login using your TXST NetID & password
  2. Select “Orgs” or “Organizations” from the left-hand navigation bar
  3. On the “Organizations” page, select “Register an Organization
  4. At the bottom of the page, click the blue button that says “REGISTER A NEW ORGANIZATION"
  5. Complete the application and click “Submit"

STEP 2: COMPLETE REQUIRED TRAININGS

Risk Management Training

  • This training is state-mandated and is required for all registered student organizations. 
  • One student officer must complete this training annually.
    • The attending officer is required to present the Risk Management Training to their organization
  • The organization's advisor must complete the training once every three years
  • NEW Financial Literacy training must be completed yearly and will be included within the Risk Management training

Available Trainings

Upon approval of your application for a new student organization, the President and the Advisor will be enrolled in the Canvas course “2025-26 Risk Management Training." They must review the course in its entirety and complete:

  • The “Post-Assessment” survey found at the end of the course
  • (student-only) The “RM Knowledge Demonstration” quiz. A score of 90% or higher is required and you have unlimited attempts to achieve your highest score.

Upon completion of the course, the student officer must:

  • Present the information covered in the training to the organization's full membership
    • Student Involvement will provide a presentation to facilitate this conversation
  • Complete the Risk Management Presenter Form to report the organization's compliance

The above steps must be completed within 3 weeks of the trainees enrollment date.
