Bobcat Build's Big Event is Texas State University's annual and largest day of service that allows students, staff, and faculty to engage with the local community through community service projects. For more than 20 years, Bobcat Build's Big Event has served as the university's way of sending a big “Thank You” to our neighbors in Hays County.

Through service and collaboration, Bobcat Build's Big Event promotes gratitude, unity, and civic leadership by empowering students to contribute to the betterment of our shared community.

Bobcat Build's Big Event bridges the gap between Texas State University and the citizens of Hays County through meaningful service, fostering a culture of civic leadership and a sustained culture of community engagement.

Staffing

Bobcat Build's Big Event is planned and executed each year through the Leadership & Service area within Student Involvement & Engagement. Overseen by 1 full-time professional staff member, our Planning Team comprises of about 6-7 student planning board members and 30-50 student committee members.
