To electioneer on the Texas State University campuses (San Marcos and Round Rock, the office of Student Involvement & Engagement highly encourages individuals or groups to fill out the Electioneering Request Form. 

Student Involvement & Engagement uses this form to designate outdoor space(s) on the prospective date(s) and time(s) of electioneering identified in this form. Spaces are subject to availability.

The policies in UPPS 07.04.02 - Posting/Distribution of Literature, Informational Booths & Banners on Campus apply to signs and electioneering near polling places during voting periods and on election days.

All forms should be submitted two (2) business days before the requested date. Weekends and dates for University Closures are excluded.

Please read the following statements:

  1. During the time a polling place on campus is open for voting, a person may not electioneer for or against any candidate, measure, or political party within 100 feet of an outside door through which a voter may enter the building where the polling place is located (Election Code § 85.036).       
  2. Amplified sound is NOT allowed in the Quad.     
  3. LBJ Student Center Mall, LBJ Student Center Bus Loop, Quad and Bobcat Trail are the only designated areas for signs.
  4. Must provide your own tables, chairs, and signage.   
  5. Electioneers/organizations must adhere to parking policies set forth by Parking Services at 512‐245‐2887.
  6. The Electioneers/organizations will restore area to its proper state each night, such as removing refuse and signs left from its operation. Tents may NOT be left overnight.      
  7. All policies and procedures have been read and understood. All forms, policies, and procedures are subject to change and may be found on Student Involvement & Engagement's website.
